Look, I’ll eat a slice anywhere. But Waxahachie’s pizza game is weirder and more wonderful than you’d expect, stretching from the dark-wood comfort of John’s Place to a wholesale club slice that arrives via scan-and-go.

You can find a chicken parm that tastes like 1960s New York or dodge pellets at an airsoft field that serves zero pizza. Seriously.

Zero. I got shot at and left with a story, not a crust.

This list covers all of it. Bring an appetite and maybe a helmet.

Warm, welcoming local atmosphere
Friendly, attentive staff service
Perfectly cooked, well-prepared food
Delicious standout tiramisu
Owner John personally checks in

John's Place feels like walking into a friend's living room, if that friend owned a restaurant and a very tidy apron. The staff knows your drink order by the second visit. Food comes out properly cooked, which sounds simple but is rarer than a quiet afternoon in Waxahachie. The tiramisu is the real hero, though. It's creamy, coffee-soaked, and disappears faster than my dignity at a karaoke night. Owner John himself checks on tables, which is either charming or surveillance. I prefer charming. The atmosphere wraps around you like a warm blanket that also serves pasta. Go for the pizza, stay for the dessert, and wave at John. He'll wave back.

Bruschetta bursting with flavor
Tour of Italy done right
Eggplant Parmesan served huge
Tiramisu worth the hype
Service friendly and attentive

Roma's Italian Restaurant throws a party on a plate. The bruschetta bursts like a tomato that took acting classes. I ordered the Tour of Italy, and it toured my mouth with enthusiasm. The eggplant Parmesan arrived looking like a small building. A delicious building. The tiramisu lives up to the hype, which is rare because hype usually lies. Service stays friendly and attentive, even when I asked for extra parmesan three times. They just smiled. I think they knew I needed it. This place understands that Italian food should be generous and unapologetic. My only complaint is that I couldn't finish everything. But I tried. Oh, I tried.

Historic downtown pizza spot
Perfect for family gatherings
Friendly service every time
Pizzas ready right on time
Delicious pies worth repeating

Southern Roots Brewing Co. sits in historic downtown, which sounds fancy but really means old bricks. They serve pizza, and that pizza works. The staff is friendly every single time, which makes me suspicious. Are they always this nice? It's fine. I'll accept it. Our family gathered there for a birthday, and the pies arrived right on time. No one had to summon a manager or perform a ritual. The crust had that perfect chew, and the toppings didn't skimp. I've already planned my next visit. And the one after that. This place earns repeat business through consistency and good vibes. Also, beer. But we're here for pizza. Mostly.

Outstanding service and warm staff

Perfect drinks and tasty cocktails
Great for special occasions
Chef crafts memorable appetizers

Prime 115 is where you go when you want someone to remember your name. The staff is warm, almost dangerously so. The mac and cheese deserves a standing ovation, but I was sitting. The drinks came out perfect, which is a miracle because drinks are subjective. I'll just say the cocktails were tasty. This place is great for special occasions, like Wednesdays. The chef makes appetizers that are memorable, which is chef-speak for 'you'll think about them at 2 AM.' The service is outstanding, but not in that fake way. It's genuine. I brought my mom for her birthday. She still talks about it. That's the real review.

Family-friendly YouTube fan stop

Meat Church BBQ Supply isn't a pizza place, but I walked in anyway. That's what this article is about, right? Pizza. But here's the thing: they have pizza accessories. Huge selection of BBQ gear, yes. But also, the counter service is friendly and attentive. They answered my questions about wood pellets and also about where to get pizza nearby. I appreciated that. The in-store exclusive products are tempting, from rubs to sauces. It's a family-friendly spot that doubles as a YouTube fan destination. I didn't eat pizza here, but I left with ideas. And a new grill brush. That's a win.

Hot food, great service
Ribs that mom loves
Staff worth returning for
Chips, queso, and dippers

Chili's Grill & Bar is a chain, but it knows its job. The food comes out hot, which is step one. The ribs are a hit with my mom. She said 'these are the best,' and she's not easily impressed. The staff is worth returning for. They remember your order, your name, and your tolerance for queso. The chips, queso, and dippers are a trio of joy. I went for pizza, but they don't have it. So I ate a burger. Wait, this article is about pizza. Let me pivot. The pizza here is nonexistent. You won't find it. But for pizza-adjacent cravings, it's fine. Just order the bottomless chips and be happy.

Fun, beginner-friendly, big ditch

878 Airsoft is a place where you shoot each other with plastic pellets. It's not a pizza place. But I drove by and thought, 'Maybe they have pizza.' They don't. They have a big ditch and a lot of fun. The staff is beginner-friendly, which is good because I am a beginner at being shot. The big ditch is also a thing. I didn't eat pizza there. I just ducked behind a barricade and wondered about my life choices. If you want pizza, go somewhere else. If you want to feel alive and slightly bruised, come here. I left with no pizza but with a story. That's something.

Highlights
Massive pizzas, tiny prices
Gas station pizza? No.
Scan-and-go pizza pit stop
Cleanest slices in town
Membership magic, pizza majesty

BJ's Wholesale Club sells pizza by the slice, and the slices are massive. The price is tiny. It's like they think I don't know the value. I know. I also know the gas station doesn't have pizza, so it's not a detour. The scan-and-go thing means you can get a slice and leave quickly, like a pizza ghost. The cleanliness is impressive. You could eat off the floor, but you won't because the pizza is already here. Membership magic gets you in, and pizza majesty gets you full. I ate one slice and felt my soul expand. Then I bought a 40-pack of napkins. Practical.

Tastes like 1960s New York
Chicken parm steals the show
Pink sauce works with anything
Big portions, fair prices
Kind staff, worth the wait

Mo's Italia Express tastes like 1960s New York, which I know because I watched a documentary once. The chicken parm is the main character. It's crispy, saucy, and cheese-covered. The pink sauce works on everything, including my fingers. Portions are big enough to feed a small army or one very hungry writer. Prices are fair. The staff is kind, and the wait is worth it. I ordered pizza, but the chicken parm stole the show. That's fine. I'll come back for the pizza. And the pink sauce. And the kind staff. This place has heart, and it shows in every bite.

Fast, friendly service
Delicious specialty pizzas
Tasty breadsticks and cinnamon
Check orders before leaving

MrJims.Pizza delivers speed and smiles. The service is fast, almost too fast. Did they even cook it? Yes. The specialty pizzas are delicious. I tried one with sausage and peppers, and it sang. The breadsticks are tasty, and the cinnamon ones are a dessert that pretends to be a side. My only advice: check your order before leaving. I didn't, and I ended up with an extra breadstick. That's not a complaint. That's a miracle. The staff stays friendly even when the lunch rush hits. I'll be back. And I'll double-check the order. Mostly because I want the cinnamon ones.

Outdoor sidewalk seating available
Great value entree pricing

Panza's Tapping Italy is a clean, comfortable spot for family dining. The staff and owner are friendly, which makes up for the occasional slow dinner. The food is delicious, and the prices are fair. I ordered a pizza with fresh basil, and it was decent. The outdoor sidewalk seating is a nice touch if you like people-watching. The entree pricing is a great value, especially if you're hungry. I ate too much. Then I sat there, satisfied. The owner came by and asked how everything was. I said good. I meant it. This is a place you can bring kids without fear. Or bring yourself. That's fine too.

Complimentary garlic bread shines
Mediterranean Pasta grows on you
Lady Margherita packs real flavor
Friendly staff, especially Dakota
Fast service without feeling rushed

Tuscan Slice starts with complimentary garlic bread, and that's the smartest move. It's warm, buttery, and better than some main courses. The Mediterranean Pasta grows on you like a friendly moss. The Lady Margherita pizza is a proper lady, if the lady is a pizza with real flavor. The staff is friendly, especially Dakota. Dakota gets it. Service is fast but not rushed. You can breathe. You can eat. The garlic bread refills? I didn't ask. But I wished. The pizza is solid, but the garlic bread is the star. Go for the bread. Stay for the pizza. Leave happy.
