Mansfield has one speed when it comes to burgers: go big or go home. You can grab a massive, juice-running-down-your-wrist Hawaiian smash from a drive-thru with a patient smile, or you can sit in a tidy biergarten and watch a worker wipe the same table down twice, which honestly felt like performance art.

Some of the best spots here feel less like restaurants and more like friendly neighborhood agreements, with one particular joint serving fresh patties that almost made me tear up over a seasoned fry. But I’m not here to pick a favorite yet.

That’s your job. Grab a fork, clear your schedule, and meet me down the list.

Highlights
Burgers consistently amazing
Chili cheese tots generous
Fries steal the show
Family favorite already

Nearly Famous Burgers and Wings is the kind of place where your family starts arguing over who gets the last fry before you've even sat down. The burgers are consistently amazing, which is a relief because consistency is rare. Chili cheese tots arrived like a small, glorious mountain of cheese and carbs. But the fries? They steal the whole show. I watched my kid guard them like a tiny dragon. We're already calling it a family favorite. That's dangerous. We'll be back weekly now. My arteries are nervously excited.

Highlights
Clean, spacious, fast service
Blue cheese bacon burger shines
Seasoned fries, perfect salt
Great shakes, hot fresh food

Hideout Burgers feels like a secret base, but with better lighting. Clean, spacious, and fast, which is a weird combo, like a ninja with a clipboard. The blue cheese bacon burger shines like a greasy little lighthouse. Seasoned fries had perfect salt, not that shy sprinkle some places attempt. Great shakes, and the food came out hot and fresh, almost suspiciously so. My only complaint is that I couldn't hide out there forever. But the service was so quick, I barely had time to enjoy the hideout part.

Satisfying, balanced baked ziti

Brooklyn Pie & Cafe is a cozy corner where the owners actually know things. Fresh, crunchy pie crusts that shatter like happy little earthquakes. Friendly, knowledgeable owners who treated me like a regular on my first visit. The atmosphere is comfortable and food-focused, no distractions. The 18-inch pizza was light and crispy, a beautiful thin rectangle of joy. Baked ziti was satisfying and balanced, not a cheese bomb, more like a cheese diplomatic mission. I left feeling like I'd been adopted by a tiny Italian grandmother. I don't think she's actually Italian. Doesn't matter.

Boss Burgerz has patties the size of small planets. Massive, thick, juicy things that require a strategy. The drive-thru staff was patient and helpful, even when I took forever reading the menu. The unique Hawaiian burger option is a tropical surprise in the middle of Mansfield. Warm, friendly customer service made the whole experience feel like a hug, if hugs came with pickles. I bit into the Hawaiian burger and thought about surfing, but I've never surfed. It was still great. The juice ran down my wrist. I didn't care. I'd do it again.

Dog Haus Biergarten is where comfort food gets a glow-up. Unique flavors that still feel like home, if home had a biergarten and better lighting. The sweet Hawaiian bun magic is real; that bread is a pillow for your patty. Friendly staff, easy banter, like chatting with old friends who happen to be holding spatulas. Spotless workers, hardworking crew, and the owner's charm is undeniable. My teen approved it, which is basically a Nobel Prize. I watched a guy clean a table twice. Twice. That's dedication. I'll be back, maybe with my teen. Maybe without.

Airways Hamburger is a time machine with a drive-thru. Quick service, under 10 minutes, which is practically instant in burger years. Classic burger and fries done right, no fancy nonsense. They serve real Coke, too, not just any soda. That matters more than you'd think. Genuinely friendly, carside service, they brought it out like I was royalty. Affordable at eight bucks total, which felt like a steal. I sat in my car, ate the burger, and watched clouds. Peaceful. Simple. Perfect. The fries were still crispy. Miracles happen.

Cold beer, great Irish nachos
Quick shuttle to AT&T Stadium
Fast-moving line, efficient setup

J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill is a pregame pro. Cold beer, great Irish nachos, which are basically a cheese and potato party. There's a quick shuttle to AT&T Stadium, so you can drink and eat and then get whisked away like a VIP. The line moved fast, and the setup was surprisingly efficient. I had a burger and felt ready to face a crowd of strangers. The Irish nachos are the real star, though. I ordered them as an appetizer and then again as dessert. No regrets. The shuttle driver told me a joke. It wasn't funny. Still great.

Great value for the price
Tasty seasoned fries
Quick, efficient service

Collins Burger Mart is a small place with a big heart. Friendly, personal service, they remembered my order on the second visit. That's impressive for a guy who mumbles. Fresh, made-to-order burgers, so you wait a little, but it's worth it. Great value for the price, my wallet breathed a sigh of relief. Tasty seasoned fries, not just salted, but actually seasoned. Quick and efficient, despite the made-to-order thing. I ate my burger and watched the world go by. Simple joys. I'll be back. They probably already know that.

Inconvenient dock access
Confusing entry signage
Poor value for price
Overcooked rice, little meat
No accessible restrooms

Don Lee Farms is a cautionary tale. Inconvenient dock access, which is a fancy way of saying I almost got lost in a parking lot. Confusing entry signage, I circled twice like a confused pigeon. Poor value for price, I paid for a burger and left feeling shortchanged. Overcooked rice and little meat, which is a weird combo, like a sad salad. No accessible restrooms, which is a problem when you drink a large soda. I don't recommend it. I'm not even sure it was a real burger place. Maybe it's a front. For what? I don't know.

Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store is a reliable friend. Hot, salty fries on point, the kind that burn your tongue but you keep eating. C burgers are delicious and nice, a value meal that doesn't taste like a value meal. Friendly staff, great service, they smiled even during a rush. Always cleaning, spotless tables, which is rarer than a unicorn. Reasonable prices and tasty sundaes, so you can have dinner and dessert without taking out a loan. I got a sundae and fries at the same time. The employee didn't judge. That's true love.

Menu worth exploring

Rick's Burgers is a quiet little win. Burgers cooked just right, no drama, no fuss. Sweet potato fries were delicious, the kind you forget are healthier because they taste like candy. Quick, friendly service, which is always a welcome surprise. Worth the stop, absolutely. The menu is worth exploring, too, like a treasure map with extra cheese. I tried something new and didn't regret it. That's the highest compliment. My only regret is not ordering two burgers. Next time, Rick. Next time.
